ORA was established by Giarna Te Kanawa in June 2015 as an art, design and object gallery to showcase the talent of New Zealanders, both based here in New York and New Zealand.

It began as a short-term 6 month pop-up and has grown into a 2 year project. Developing organically and expanding to a space for performance, cultural evenings and events.

This upcoming season of ORA, October- June 2017, will feature artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs as well as an artisan gift shop during the holiday season.

ORA is an inclusive space, for people to connect with their home and culture as well as a place to inquire about our relationship with ourselves, worldview and environment. Often featuring artists who have a deep relationship with the land and environmental concerns.

Mā te rongo, ka mōhio; Mā te mōhio, ka mārama; Mā te mārama, ka mātau; Mā te mātau, ka ORA'. 'Through resonance comes cognizance; through cognizance comes understanding; through understanding comes knowledge; through knowledge comes life and well-being’.

We look forward to seeing you at ORA Gallery soon.
