After 15 years living in Paris, France, New Zealand born artist Claire Price recently made the leap across the Atlantic settling in Brooklyn, New York. Originally hailing from Auckland, she studied photography at Ilam school of Fine Arts at Canterbury University.
Moving to Paris in 2001 she simultaneously pursued music, photography and painting. Her band ‘Frank’ was signed to Universal Publishing France and released two EP’s, which are available on iTunes. Her work as a photographer has appeared in Vogue Australia, Libération, Elle, Marie Claire, Grazia and Rolling Stone. She has shot album covers for international artists signed to Blue Note records, EMI and Universal.
These days there is less focus on the music and more focus on painting and photography. Her artwork has sold to collectors around the world, she has appeared in group shows in Auckland, Paris and New York. Her work is a fusion of textures and inspiration coming from figurative painting, collage, abstract color and photography.
